Fixed gear tricks are for fatty's!

The whole fixed gear tricks things getting abit too much these days. It seems to be that every other day theres another video of people doing relatively simple BMX moves on fixed gear bikes and everyone goes nuts for it. The bikes already feature pretty much all bmx components and the frames are just blown up versions of bmx's anyway, I've even seen people riding with stunt pegs aswell! Whens it gonna stop?
The trailer for the new REVOKED video just came out and in it people are doing roof gaps and handrails! Piss take. Are fixed gear trick riders just washed up, past it bmx'ers? Just check out this snarling fatty as a prime exampleWas he laughed out of the skatepark for looking like an elephant on a mini bike then cheared the day when people started doing tricks on fixed gear bikes and thought 'oh shit thats for me, I can get a bike that fits me, do simple tricks and still think that I'm the nuts'
I'm over it. Show me people riding hills!

stop acting like you're too cool for "fixie tricks", when you do nothing but endorse the fixie culture on the whole.

it'll "stop" when douche bags like you STOP promoting such a ridiculous fashion trend, and therefore the innovators will stop looking to build on what's already being done by an entire nation of hipster "individuals". you're not different or cool, you're doing exactly the same as everyone who thinks they're a one off, so essentially you're just a walking (or cycling) contradiction.

i don't know you, but this blog reeks of a loser. sorry if i made you spit your cyclist biscuits all over your macintosh keyboard.

This is my first comment..

Yes i endorse 'fixie culture' but i dont think 'im too cool for fixie tricks' its just not for me.
So im a douche bag for not liking fixed gear tricks then?
I dont ride my bike as a fashion trend, i ride it for the fun and ease of getting about on it.
I did enjoy your comment about spitting biscuit at my computer though.

oi dickhead, 'innovative' is not what tricks on a fixie is, all that shit has been done a thousand times better on a BMX, i ride a fixed bike to get about quick, blaze up and down hills because thats what the design function is and they do it well. i ride a bmx and can do every piece of shit trick seen on that trailer and consider them easy because a BMX is designed for it and means you can do big, burly technical stuff.
Tricks on a fixies are not impressive, they're people who dont have the skill to ride a bmx well so do the boring unimpressive tricks on a tall bike which looks stiff and boring.
all i want from a fixie vid is people goin stupidly fast down hills and shit, if i want tricks i'l buy a bmx dvd, if i want to see tricks done that fixie riders do i'l buy a bmx dvd from the 90's.
puffs do tricks on fixies, men blaze hills through traffic.
get over it, shredibility no1,
t2s mother fuckers, boycot this shitty video

Right my last comment was a complete cop out.

So me disliking tricks means im acting 'too cool' for it?
A ridiculous fashion trend? Surely 'fixie tricks' are the most ridiculous thing about this 'fashion trend'?
Are you fully expecting that when these 'hipsters' stop riding there bikes the only people left are gonna be trick riders? Are trick riders some elitest group that have some sort of ownership over fixed gear bikes?
As the person above says
"puffs do tricks on fixies, men blaze hills through traffic."

What makes it so lame is the fact that you have the balls to act elitist over the way somebody should ride a fucking bike. you feel you have merit to decide what's cool and what isn't, and you're so confident in your opinion that you feel the need to broadcast it online.

Fixed gears are ridiculous on so many levels, and I find it entertaining that there are clicks forming within a click. There's now "cool" and "not cool", as with every other subculture. The funny thing is, this subcultures foundations are built on essentially nothing; a bike with no gears. An impractical and ultimately vain form of transportation, with no diversity from a normal bike, apart from the inconvenience of NOT being able to stop peddling.

asking a fixie rider why they ride fixies evokes the funniest replies ever. Usually a look of desperation followed by something along the lines of; "it's a great leg work out", "it's just lighter than a geared bike, so it's easier", no, you ride it because it's the latest trend, and when they're out and pogo sticks are in, it'll be in your mums garage collecting dust. Better start preparing excuses for when you find yourself customizing a space hopper to look cool on. "it's great for my thighs"...

The whole thing kind of reminds me of this

I play fixie polo, I am only in it for the fanny. Believe.

My guess is that you are 17, resentful because you 'like, totally rode fixies before ANYONE - before the wheel was like, even INVENTED' and bitter because your mother was involved in a brutal fixed-gear cycling accident in which the bike became lodged inside her for many years until she was freed by the sweet release of death.

why did you have to bring mothers into it?
I thought we were talking about bikes.
We all know that we ride stupid track bikes with no brakes and its for fashion rather than some divine reason.
They look cool, they make you feel cool and most of yours mates have got one.
I think the haters on this message board are just jealous because their BBs lack enough clearance to corner without peddle strike!

As for tricks its only natural progression, however roller skating in the 50s looked cool but now people are all about having inlines and doing stupid hand rails.

FIXIE TRIX= WACK

haaaa good craic.

fixed gear is just plain fun.
the whole oversized bmx thing is a bit strange, but then so are loads of things in the cycling world....

i ride fixed gear, not because its fashionable, i just like a challenge!
bombing hills with no brakes is scary, which is why its great!
mind i also play polo and do tricks(no stairsets or tailwhips mind).

people just need to stop all the hating and get on with what they enjoy :)

FYI spitting biscuits into a keyboard is harder than it sounds..... experience has shown rich teas are best.
